Elizabeth Brown
Legal Assistant Supervisor and Paralegal
Elizabeth Brown is a trial-experienced paralegal with more than 20 years of experience in litigation and paralegal management. With a background in child welfare and social work, she brings a nuanced understanding of the challenges facing children and families during periods of conflict and transition. Her civil litigation experience includes extensive legal research, writing, editing, and case management across complex matters.
As Legal Assistant Supervisor, Elizabeth oversees the firm’s legal support team, helping ensure that attorneys and clients receive consistent, high-quality service. She approaches complex matters with organization, persistence, sensitivity, and a collaborative mindset.
Elizabeth previously served as a Paralegal Supervisor at an AmLaw 100 firm and as a senior paralegal at boutique public sector labor & employment and commercial litigation firms.
Elizabeth is active in community service and nonprofit leadership. She has served in multiple roles with San Francisco Court Appointed Special Advocates (SFCASA), a nonprofit that recruits and trains volunteers to advocate for the best interests of children in foster care. She served as a youth advocate, board member, vice-chair, and has helped develop the organization’s annual fundraising event. She co-chairs her daughter’s school Family Service Night, an event that supports local nonprofits and teaches children and families about the missions of the organizations it benefits. She also served as Pro Bono Case Coordinator at a prior firm, building partnerships with community organizations, including the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights.
And in her (nearly non-existent) downtime as a single mom, Elizabeth loves music, having grown up playing the violin. She will happily talk your ear off about classical, jazz, 80s-90s alternative, aughts indie pop, and electronica, and is currently expanding her musical horizons through her daughter’s enthusiasm for artists like Taylor Swift and KATSEYE.
